I am giving some lectures, here and there, about my latest book on "Mystery and oriental rites in ancient Pompei" (Culti misterici ed orientali a Pompei", Gangemi Editore, Roma, 2008). I am also coordinating a series of lectures about the history of Chivalric Orders.
Another series of lectures and seminars I am organizing about the history of Byzantium (its role in the history of Western Chivalry and some related themes) in collaboration with the "Order of the Guards of St. Sophia" and further cultural and scientific organizations.
I am editing a book about the Napoleonic heritage, it contains articles of several international scholars. It is a kind of "second part" of my book on the Napoleonic Tradition edited in 2005.
John Thoma Reports...
John and his wife Jennell were victims of the devastating Galveston Island floods and lost scores of memorabilia, uniforms, documents and the like. John asks if any members are aware of craftsmen who could repair antique swords to please be in touch. You can contact him through the Chancery. John has a few photos of the damage and might be able to later post one here.
